I adore the classic Universal films because they are works of art all the way around. Amazing acting, sets, makeup, and the atmosphere that transports you into the story. For me the Gill-man from Creature from the Black Lagoon holds a special place in my heart. Not only does he have that scary prehistoric alien-like quality of man meets fish, but he's also a sympathetic monster, and relatable in a way. He represents what all of us feel at one point or another... a misfit who craves love and acceptance.
